Voluntary

SVA (Student Volunteer Army) is a charity empowering the next generation of volunteers. We facilitate meaningful volunteering opportunities for primary, secondary and tertiary-aged young people and mobilise a network of volunteers of all ages to respond to crises when Aotearoa needs our help. The SVA whānau has gotten bigger since its inception. There are now clubs in the various tertiary institutions, including at Canterbury, Lincoln, Victoria, and Otago, with more to come in 2025.

Clubs are headed by excellent executive committees who plan and facilitate volunteering opportunities for their members. Students lead the way to combat societal gaps while making participation easy, non-discriminatory, and, most importantly, enjoyable. Being a part of a committee is a fun yet challenging experience where students go through a self-development journey while picking up transferable skills for their future careers, all while making a difference.

We are looking for Club Exec Members for the 2025 term This leadership role is for you if you are a current tertiary student and would like to help run SVA at your campus. Whether you have an SVA Club on campus or want to start one up, we will help you along the way.

One of the critical roles we look to fill is that of the Club Logistics Officer. The Logistics Officer is the owner of all equipment. The Logistics Officer is responsible for documenting an inventory and issuing equipment in and out of that inventory. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about quality equipment and would like to resource volunteers appropriately for a variety of projects.

This person:

- Keeps a record of equipment or property owned by the club;
- Keeps track of who has borrowed equipment and return dates;
- Books extra gear for events;
- Organises gear maintenance;
- Looks after club storage area (if applicable);
- Organises transport of gear to major projects.
