**About the Role**:
We are now excited to get on board an Area Logistics Officer to join our team in Auckland, New Zealand.
Reporting to the Senior Logistics Supervisor, this role will Monitor the performance of local depots and their handling of our containers. The role will also Monitor stock levels for hubs within your control
- providing clear communication to all parties regarding stock levels vs demand.
**Key responsibilities of the role will include**:
Monitoring the performance of local depots and their handling of our containers
- with ongoing communication between all parties
A greater awareness and local accountability of container costs within the hub/s of responsibility.
Understand and adhere to the principles of the Groups Code of Ethics.
3rd party recoveries including but not limited to depot handling and rejected container transport.
To contribute to the development/enhancement of the systems for inventory control by making recommendations on process improvement.
Liaise with depots and ports to ensure our requirements are known and any issues highlighted before they arise
Ensure any damaged or special equipment units that are idle in excess of 21 days DIA (Days inactive) is approved of evacuated.
To safeguard CMA CGM Group and its Principals from potential loss of recovery costs by implementing a rigid discipline of cost recovery.
On a weekly basis, review units within the hubs under your control that appear on the 50 day idle list provided by RO weekly.
Action instructions from Principals relating to equipment costs.
Coordinate with bookings team and customers (pack sites) to ensure quick and timely release of equipment to meet pack site and export cargo cut offs.
Escalate on potential supply issues if supply is at risk within the next 2-3 week period.
Liaise with overseas agents and offices on any special instructions relating to management of equipment.
Investigate off hire possibilities of excess stock within your hubs under your control
Update re-delivery depot assign for vessels arriving into your hubs.
Liaise with SSC Equipment team to ensure Lara is correct and updated within hubs under your control
**To succeed in this role, you will need**:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in container terminal, port operations or shipping company environment.
Tertiary qualifications in Supply chain/ Logistics/International Business
Good level of oral and written English language skills.
Knowledge of EDI
Excellent ability to pick up software systems.
Articulate and able to demonstrate a high level of verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in the use of Outlook and Excel
Ability to build relationships with various stakeholders.
Good time management skills and ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks/
Able to solve problems and make decisions
A customer-oriented approach.
Ability to work as part of a team and help out when required.
High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
