This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
The remuneration for this role is circa $62,000 p.a. (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience**
**The opportunity**
As a Maintenance Operator, you'll play a key role in keeping our metro water treatment plants operating safely and efficiently. You'll carry out weekly cleaning, inspections and basic maintenance across process systems and facilities, help maintain grounds and catchment areas, and support CIR checks. From time to time, you'll also assist trades staff on more complex works. This is a practical, varied role that directly supports safe, reliable drinking water for the region.**
**Key responsibilities include the following**:
- Deliver routine cleaning, inspections and maintenance across treatment plant systems
- Complete CIR checks, grounds care and basic facilities maintenance
- Support trades staff with maintenance tasks when required
- Respond to operational incidents and assist during emergency events
- Follow and promote Health and Safety procedures, including safe isolation and chemical handling
**About you**
**To be successful in this role you will bring the following**:
- Full New Zealand driver's licence
- Basic building and mechanical skills
- Experience using computerised asset or maintenance systems
- Knowledge of Health and Safety practices and environmental management
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role and work well in a team
