**About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance**
**The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028.

**The role**

As a Maintenance Operations Foreman, you will be supervising a large road maintenance project. You will need the ability to work to timeframes and deadlines, across day and night shifts; a commitment to quality; effective problem-solving skills; a strong work ethic and effective communication skills. You will have a strong focus on health and safety and wellbeing. You will need to be comfortable instructing and directing road work crews and sub-contractors in the maintenance of non-pavement assets for the Alliance to meet delivery requirements.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Manage and effectively communicate relevant maintenance activities and tasks to staff members
- Focus on safe work practices, risk mitigation and continual improvement on worker safety in accordance with ASM policy and standards as well as WorkSafe and industry guidelines
- Regular auditing and maintenance of plant, tools, equipment and the relevant registers
- Regular auditing of quality of completed works
- Deliver key communications through regular tailgates and toolbox meetings
- Assist in producing work rosters and to manage staff requirements for night or day work
- Management of stock take systems and team requests
- Ensure good housekeeping practices and proper security measures are maintained
- Oversee work in progress and ensure that all activities meet specifications, codes and regulations
- Communicate with the wider team as necessary to resolve any issues in a timely manner
- Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other challenges
- Monitor maintenance and construction resources to maximise utilisation and minimise down time
- Contribute to incident investigations, and implement corrective measures where appropriate, in conjunction with relevant ASM departments
- Assist in identifying training needs of staff and coordinating training as required
- Utilise financial systems to raise purchase orders, review and submit timesheets
- Monitor team job allocations to ensure works are completed on time in accordance with the program of works and the completion of corresponding paperwork requirements
- Undertaking any reasonable ad hoc items that may eventuate because of day-to-day operations

**Ideal applicants will**:

- 3+ years of experience in the road construction or maintenance industry in a similar role
- Trade Certificate in Construction Discipline preferred
- Proven experience in leading people
- First Aid Certificate
- Construct Safe / Site Safe
- Basic STMS 2/3 NP or Equivalent
- Current licenses - minimum of class 2 full drivers and appropriate endorsements as required for role
- Understanding of basic contract administration procedures
- Understanding of timesheets and their process
