Maintenance & Operations Supervisor

This role offers the opportunity to lead a capable team, drive operational excellence, and deliver high-quality service outcomes across a range of maintenance and project contracts.
About the Role
As the Maintenance & Operations Supervisor, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of maintenance and project deliverables. This includes planning resources, coordinating staff and subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
You'll provide strong leadership to your team, mentoring, motivating, and developing staff to achieve performance goals while upholding the organisation's commitment to Health, Safety, and Wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Lead and motivate operational teams to achieve consistent, high-quality results.
- Build and maintain a positive, high-performance culture.
- Foster wellbeing, continuous learning, and personal growth within the team.
- Manage staff development, training, and performance effectively.
Operational Delivery
- Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, job planning, quoting, and approvals.
- Conduct regular Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) inspections and audits.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and contract specifications.
- Monitor key performance indicators and drive improvements in productivity.
- Identify and implement innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Promote clear communication, collaboration, and teamwork across all levels.
- Encourage a customer-focused approach and celebrate team achievements.
Health, Safety & Wellbeing
- Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, with appropriate risk assessments and procedures in place.
- Support the physical and mental wellbeing of all team members.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 5+ years' experience in maintenance, operations, or project supervision.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving ability.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to operational challenges.
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and environmental standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- A full Class 1 Driver's Licence.
- (Preferred) Relevant Horticulture or Turf qualification (Level 4) and/or leadership qualification.
