**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The Te Whatu Ora Improve business unit takes a whole-system, consumer and whānau-centred and equity led approach to accelerate improvement and innovation, underpinned by best evidence, data and evaluation.

The primary purpose of the National Manager Health Pathways role is to lead the development of a national a National HealthPathways Programme including the development a work programme for the progressive nationalisation of HealthPathways with a clear structure and accountabilities.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the effective programme management of HealthPathways, including the management ofHealthPathway teams, the development of HealthPathways governance structures, and oversight of HealthPathways contracting, budgets, monitoring and reporting.

The National Manager Health Pathways will collaborate and partner with national, regional and local leaders, other national programme managers and networks to manage the transition, consolidation and growth of the National HealthPathways Programme.

**Mōu | About you**

To succeed in this role you will have experience in HealthPathways programme management or clinical pathway programme management and experience working as a leader within the healthcare environement. You are able to think, plan and contribute strategically and will bring ideas about how healthcare pathways can contribute to achieving pae ora and equitable health outcomes for all New Zealanders. You will be able to describe a vision for effective healthcare pathways across Te Whatu Ora and key success factors for their design and implementation.

You will have a proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations to drive change, reduce unwarranted variation, and achieve sustaionable improvement in health outcomes.

- Significant experience and expertise within the role's areas of focus of Programme Management of HealthPathways.
- Experience developing and implementing effective team strategies and work plans that deliver on organisational objectives.
- Experience leading leaders and other senior staff, including building capability and lifting performance of a team/unit.
- Previous responsibility at a leadership level for developing, maintaining and influencing effective relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific people and groups.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
