Join us as Sales Engineer and you will develop and maintain new and existing systems sales opportunities, customer relationships and manage resolution of specific customer problems for the Process Industries Division. You will be part of a high performing team who are looking to grow and develop new & innovative business opportunities. Reporting to Local Division Sales Manager and will be based in Auckland OR - Rotorua.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Establishing and maintaining customer relationships (from engineering and commercial to administrative functions) to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full product offering, and aligning to provide a solution
- Participating in negotiations of key contracts and ensuring the successful outcome of transactions, contracts and proposals
- Assisting the Bids and Proposals team to prepare offers in coordination. Ensuring appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers (with support from Sales Manager, Systems Engineers and Service Personnel), including prices and trading conditions
- Driving an expanded solutions and services portfolio with existing customers and identify market white spots to target the acquisition of new customers
- Ensuring achievement of sales volume and product mix targets by setting appropriate winning strategies to protect price and margins
- Participating in negotiations of key contracts Selling products (Hardware and Software), systems (Engineered Solutions) and advanced services to customers
- Implementing sales strategy, including initiatives for growth, in alignment with Process Industries Business Unit overall plans and expectation
- Providing the “bottoms-up” Division targets during budget input stage to reflect market opportunity, growth ambitions and pipeline conversion factors. Deliver on annual targets and ambitions
**Your background**:
- Engineering degree (or recognized equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a system solutions role in a relevant segment
- Automation, control and/or electrification experience highly regarded
- Awareness of ABB´s portfolio of products and solutions (not only PA) would be advantageous
- Awareness of greenfield and large brownfield proposal requirements would be advantageous
- Proven success in a customer interface role is essential
