**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with an interest in trauma nursing ideally with critical care, emergency medicine and or surgical nursing experience to join our Trauma Nursing Team here at Waikato hospital.
**About the Role**
- As a successful Clinical Nurse Specialist you will play a key role in facilitating the patient and whanau journey for those admitted to the trauma service
- Day to day you will be providing specialist nursing care and expertise, both in direct care delivery to patients admitted to the trauma service facilitating/coordinating care, timely referrals to other specialities, the wider health care team and supporting a safe discharge.
- Collection of trauma data is also a component of the role
This is a permanent part time 0.7 FTE position, where you will work initially Monday to Friday
**Key responsibilities of the role**:
- Facilitate Patient and whanau journey
- Facilitate Multidisciplinary Team meetings
- Participate in audits and research includes collecting data for nationwide trauma data set
- Nurse led clinics
- Provide clinical expertise/education to nurses across Waikato hospital
**Mōu | About you**
- A proficient or expert Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years’ experience ideally in Critical care, Emergency Nursing or Surgical nursing speciality
- A current practicing certificate
- Post graduate qualification or working towards
- A strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently
- Adaptability, flexibility and agility
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
