**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
We're seeking a visionary Data and Digital Equity Lead who will play a pivotal role in guiding our data and digital services towards a future where equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles are at the forefront. We can see the opportunity that digital and data can bring for Māori and for those who suffer poor health outcomes and we are looking for a leader with the mana to bring us into this future.
Joining our Data and Digital team, you will participate in the delivery of strategic initiatives designed to support digital equity within Te Whatu Ora and across the sector. You will work closely with the Chief of Data & Digital, Senior Leadership team and Programme Leads to ensure that data and digital strategy and delivery is proactively contributing to equitable Māori Health outcomes.

**Mōu | About you**
If you have a solid background in technology, a pasion for digital equity and a deep understanding of tikanga to express clearly the needs of mana and tangata whenua, then this role was made for you
Success in this role is fueled by your positive ‘can do' attitude, a remarkable knack for building meaningful relationships, and a diverse skill set. Your cultural intelligence and deep understanding of equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi will be the catalyst in making a meaningful impact in this role.
Most of the team is based in Wellington, making it the ideal hub, however we welcome applicants from across the Motu.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A broad range of skills, knowledge, cultural intelligence and deep understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi.
- Strong cultural awareness and an understanding of Te Ao Māori and the Treaty of Waitangi and our obligations under it.
- Understanding of equity issues impacting on the New Zealand health and disability sector, including a clear understanding of the current and emerging issues for Māori and other population groups across New Zealand.
- Deep understanding of, and experience in data and digital, and an appreciation of how data and digital can benefit Māori and other population groups across New Zealand.
- Strong thinking skills, including problem definition, developing intervention logic and designing appropriate solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to be able to translate strategy into action and work alongside others to implement successfully.
- Ability to lead without authority and build collaborative and constructive working relationships across the Ministry and Sector
