**Survivor Experiences Service**

Te Tari Taiwhenua provides continued support to Survivors of abuse in care through the Survivor Experiences Service.

The Survivor Experiences Service provides a safe, supportive, confidential place for Survivors to share their experiences of abuse in care, to support healing, and a service to assist survivors to access and understand their care records.

Survivor experiences shared with the Service can be brought together to deepen understanding of abuse in care and how to prevent it.

By assisting Survivors to access and understand their care records, we can help to provide understanding, and remove gaps in Survivors’ history to help with their healing journey.

**Records Support Specialist role**

As the Records Support Specialist you will deliver high-quality survivor focused case management services as part of our Contact, Support & Records Services team.

With a strong focus on Information and Records Management, understanding relevant legislation regarding release and request will be key.

You will work collaboratively with the team to ensure the safety of those who contact us, ensuring that they have all the information they need to participate in our service.

You will maintain and utilise your strong administration skills, updating our records management system, engaging with Records holders, to request information, and engaging with our survivors.

Requesting records from Records Holders, will require an awareness of Privacy Principles and the Privacy Act, Official Information Act Requests, & Public Records Act

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A case management and or contact centre background preferably in a community or mental health setting
- Strong interpersonal skills including conflict resolution, relationship management and the ability to positively influence others
- Demonstrated well developed self-management skills with the ability to stay calm and focused in challenging situations
- Good organisational skills, including time management and administration along with the ability multi-tasking
- Proficient in diversity and inclusion, and promoting inclusive approaches around tikanga Māori, Pacific cultures, Deaf culture, and accessibility and inclusion of disabled people.Comfortable working in a complex and ambiguous environment, demonstrating your adaptability on a daily basis.
