Reporting to the Senior Strength & Conditioning Practitioner - Auckland supporting athletes and coaches to meet their highest potential that is appropriate to their age and stage of development. Positive contribution to nurture a high standard of professionalism required to enhance the athlete daily training environment. **Key Responsibilities** - Ensure the highest possible standards of professional practise that is aligned to the HPSNZ code of conduct, HPSNZ systems and processes for the documentation and protection of intellectual property and excellence in coaching practise. - A clear understanding of NSOs performance questions to have positive impact on athletic development. - Accountability of S&C support to NSOs and athletes through a comprehensive annual performance review programme with Senior Practitioners, ensuring objectives are relevant and aligned with organisational and NSO's requirements and performance impact is tracked against Campaign needs - Positive contribution in the development and fostering a sense of "team" amongst HPSNZ staff - Assist the planning of national S & C professional development initiatives where appropriate working collaboratively with other discipline areas. - Shared responsibilities of maintaining NTC is at a high standard to meet the needs and demands of a high-performance training environment. - Collaboration with other disciplines to identify appropriate strategies to enhance and share critical knowledge to have positive impact on performance. The successful applicant will have: **Experience** - A verifiable record of working effectively in the high-performance environment. - At least 5 years' working in a high-performance environment. - History of working effectively with elite athletes and coaches over a sustained period. - Proven record in the provision of strength and conditioning support to athletes and coaches to improve performance. - Demonstrated ability to analyse a sport in relation to their performance needs and to develop, implement and evaluate strength and conditioning programmes for individual athletes. - Experience with and ability to modify strength and conditioning programmes according to the results of performance or assessment data, in conjunction with coaches and other support staff. - Experience with strategic planning (i.e. IPP), implementation and monitoring of strength and conditioning services to elite athletes. - Experience of working with and supporting a team at a major international competition (e.g. Olympic or Paralympic Games, World Senior or Junior Championships or Commonwealth Games) **Qualifications** - A post graduate qualification in a sport science related curriculum (Masters Degree or PhD desirable) **You must have the legal right to work in New Zealand to be considered for this role.
