Haines Hunter HQ is currently looking for a marine apprentice to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a passion for the great outdoors and all things marine.
**About the compan**y**
Our company is an Auckland Haines Hunter dealership. We specialize in Yamaha outboards and a range of marine products. The company has over 70 years of experience in the New Zealand marine industry, offering trusted after sales service on both new and used boats and Yamaha outboards.
**About the role**
This role offers someone the opportunity to start a career in the marine industry, work alongside experienced marine mechanics, and gain a wide variety of skills and knowledge.
Upon acceptance into the apprenticeship program, full training will be provided in all aspects of marine mechanics.
As a marine mechanic apprentice, you will be tasked by the workshop manager to undergo tasks such as general servicing, running diagnostics, as well as rigging and repair work.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Yamaha outboard maintenance
- Repairs to trailers
- Predelivery checks and testing
- Repowers
- Preventative maintenance
- Electronics Installation

- A friendly, team-orientated attitude with a sense of humor
- A clean NZ drives license
- Clean and tidy appearance
- Good time management
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and handwritten reporting
- Ability to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
- Can-do attitude, honest and responsible
- Able to follow instructions
