Marine Service Technician
Haines Hunter HQ is looking for a full-time, qualified marine service technician to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about the great outdoors and marine industry.
**About the company**
Our company is an Auckland-Northland-based dealer of boats. We specialize in Yamaha outboards and a range of marine products. The company has over 70 years of experience in the New Zealand marine industry, offering trusted after sales service on both new and used boats and Yamaha outboards.
**About the role**
As a marine technician you will be tasked with general servicing, running diagnostics as well as rigging and repair work.The role offers a variety of tasks, some days you will be installing electronics and accessories and on other days you will bedoing water tests.
This role is workshop however, some outwork may be required. You will predominantly be working on Yamaha 2 stroke and 4 stroke outboards Yamaha experience is preferred but not essential.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Yamaha outboard maintenance
- Repairs to trailers
- Pick-ups and drop-offs
- Predelivery checks and testing
- Repowers and water tests
- Preventative maintenance
**About you**
- A friendly, team-orientated attitude with a sense of humor
- A clean NZ drives license
- Good time management
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and handwritten reporting
- Clean and tidy appearance
- Ability to work unsupervised and in a team setting
- Confidence in towing and driving boats
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
**Skills and experience**
- Trade Qualified as Marine Technician Preferred (or)
- Trade Qualified Automotive Mechanic
- Installation of electronics & basic 12V electrical skills
- Basic computer skills
