The Principal Advisor will support the Director, Enabling Transformation in the successful design and establishment of the Enabling Transformation Group.

As a trusted senior advisor, a strategic thought leader and connector, you will:

- Play a key role in developing the thinking, methodologiesand recommendations that shape the cohesive direction and work program of the Enabling Transformation Group that aligns with the wider work of Te Puna Aonui.
- Provide well considered and contextualised advice and guidance to progress the purpose of the Group, ensuring advice is evidence based and best practice.
- Lead integration across the Group to ensure the Group is taking a co-ordinated approach to working with iwi, communities and government agencies.
- Support the Director and other senior leaders to develop and operationalise an Engagement Plan for the Group and business unit.
- Be highly collaborative, actively build and maintain effective working relationships across Te Puna Aonui and the wider Family Violence and Sexual Violence system.

To be successful in this role you will:

- Proven experience as a trusted advisor to a senior manager that included leading/supporting business planning.
- Sound knowledge of Public sector systems and processes.
- Ability to translate strategic direction into operational outcomes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and comfortable working with ambiguity.
- Relationship management - strong relationship management and influencing skills; can understand the interests and motivations of different stakeholders and to work with them to achieve the outcomes desired, balanced against stakeholder needs.
- Advanced communications skills with an ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
- Take a customer and human centred approach to achieving outcomes.
- Visibly committed to achieving equity, champions Te Ao Māori approaches within your work and uses leadership to give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Te Puna Aonui is a small unit, with a big role. Established as an Interdepartmental Executive Board (IEB) our mandate is to ensure there is clear, joint accountability across government for work relating to the elimination of family violence and sexual violence.

As the centre of expertise that stewards the Family Violence and Sexual Violence System and the system strategy Te Aorerekura, we work in partnership with the communities we serve and always hold survivors, family, and whānau at the centre of everything we do.

**Utu ā-tau/**Salary**

Salary Range: The appointing salary for this role will be between $124,397 and $173,973 based on skills and experience.
