Sexual violence is a significant problem within Aotearoa New Zealand. At least 25% of women and 9% of men experience sexual violence during their lifetime, much of which starts during childhood. ACC offers fully funded and immediate support and treatment for people that have experienced sexual violence. We also have a role to play in preventing violence and harm from happening in the first place.

We’ve created a new Principal role in our team to manage our Family Violence and Sexual Violence Work Programme, to ensure that all our New Zealanders are aware, engaged and supportive of the work underway to further develop our services and implement change.

This is your opportunity to work in ACC’s comms, engagement and marketing team, which delivers a range of front-page information campaigns, high-profile behaviour change initiatives, and ambitious programmes to improve the way we deliver health services to injured clients.

We’re looking for an experienced strategic communication and engagement principal to help guide work across ACC’s Family Violence and Sexual Violence Work Programme and the specific projects within. This role would also connect into Te Puna Aonui’s cross-agency comms working group.

We’re looking for emotional smarts, resilience, humility, and a hunger to deliver results.

**About the role**:

- This role has oversight of a large programme of engagement relating to ACC’s Family and Sexual Violence work. You’ll develop and implement a stakeholder engagement and management plan, as well as a staged long term internal/external communication plan.
- Building internal relationships will be key to ensuring alignment across ACC’s Family Violence and Sexual Violence work programme. This includes the cross-agency comms working group with Te Puna Aonui.
- This role is responsible for leading the most critical and complex engagement projects in this very delicate space, which include areas of high ambiguity, sensitivity and will often impact several customer groups.
