**About the role - Mo tenei turanga**

The Manager Deployable Capability reports to the National Manager Response Capability and is responsible for ensuring the constant operational readiness of our nationally and internationally deployable specialist capabilities. Adhering to national and international guidelines that meet rigorous regulatory standards is paramount to maintain Fire and Emergency New Zealand's license to operate these functions.

This role is crucial in guaranteeing the effectiveness of disaster response efforts, and other regionally or nationally significant events.

We are looking for an experienced operational leader in direct specialist response teams who has proven expertise during deployments. capable of effectively leading the design of our deployable capabilities. Ensuring strong relationships with operations, learning and development ensuring high standards of safety and compliance.

**To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will have**:

- Knowledge and significant experience in technical firefighting rescue or related disciplines
- Proven operational experience in leading and managing specialist deployable teams
- Ability to analyse and understand emerging trends and challenges in emergency response
- Ability to implement strategies for operational readiness improvement
- Strong relationship skills to work with partner agencies to effectively coordinate joint capabilities and operations.
