**_The role/Te mahi_**

This is a new and exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional to join one of the premium South Island employers. You will be able to put your own mark on this developing student social space by being creative, enthusiastic, and focussed.

As the Auahi Ora Duty Manager, you will report directly to the Hospitality Manager, University of Otago Union and oversee a diverse hospitality operation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- A hands-on leadership role for the operation of Auahi Ora the new Student Lounge.
- Planning regular and varied events with a student focus.
- Proactively engaging with University Departments to build strong relationships and create new business opportunities.
- Ensuring that all Hospitality Services exceed the expectations of our clients.
- Build and develop and be part of an initiative-taking high performing hospitality team.
- Ensuring that all aspects of our services embrace and implements the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the University’s Māori and Pacific Strategic Frameworks.

This position will suit a person with significant food and beverage experience. You will have demonstrated leadership qualities and have experience in similar positions. Excellent people and relationship management skills are an absolute must.

This is a permanent position with weekend and evening work sometimes required. The salary range for this position is $25.17 to $26.57 per hour.
