This is a new and exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional to join one of the premium South Island employers. You will be able to put your own mark on this developing student social space by being creative, enthusiastic, and focussed.

As the UBAR Duty Manager, you will report directly to the UBAR Supervisor, University of Otago Union and oversee a busy student bar and hospitality operation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- A hands-on leadership and support role for the operation of UBAR.
- Assist the UBAR supervisor in all operations of the bar.
- Planning regular and varied events with a student focus.
- Ensuring that all Hospitality Services exceed the expectations of our clients.
- Build and develop and be part of an initiative-taking high performing hospitality team.
- Ensuring that all aspects of our services embrace and implements the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the University’s Māori and Pacific Strategic Frameworks.

This position will suit a person with significant bar experience. You will have demonstrated leadership qualities and have experience in similar positions. Excellent people and relationship management skills are an absolute must.

This is a permanent part time (24 hours per week) position with weekend and evening work required. The salary range for this role is $25.17 to $26.57 per hour.
