You will be comfortable teaching all age groups and will have a flair for developing and presenting hands-on programmes about all things Police. This job changes lives The education team also has responsibility for the Museum's front of house, shop, and our online presence. It also includes a supporting role in developing exhibition content as the audience advocate. **Key Accountabilities**: - Plans, develops, promotes and delivers education programmes to the correct level and with the agreed learning outcomes requested by classroom teachers - Develops, implements, delivers and manages public programmes (including school holiday programmes) and tours for the public and Police staff - Delivers outreach programmes **He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bring** Whilst we are looking for skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the role, we also place high importance on your state of mind, the alignment of your values with ours, your ability to contribute to and build high performing teams, and the way that you lead yourself or others. **To be successful in this role, the Education Officer will**: - Have teaching and/or curriculum-based museum education programme delivery experience - Support bi-cultural practice within the museum and uphold the principles of true partnership within Te Tiriti o Waitangi - Understand the Aotearoa New Zealand's histories Te Takanga o Te Wa curriculum and implement programmes that work within the curriculum - Have experience in the supervision of volunteers - Effectively communicate with our people, partners and community, - Know how to identify and manage risk to personal safety and trust and confidence - Know and understand the diverse cultures within our communities. - Have experience in engaging with partners and stakeholders - Have the experience to manage own health, waiora (well-being) and resilience. - Enhance the mana and waiora (well-being) of others, so that we can all be safe and feel safe. - Represent New Zealand Police with the highest standard of presentation: appearance and delivery. **Whakaritenga motuhake | Special requirements** **Required Qualifications**: - Undergraduate Degree in a relevant discipline, such as education, forensic science, Aotearoa New Zealand's histories - Current First Aid Certificate - Full Drivers Licence - General health which will allow for the performance of all duties and functions of the position **Preferred Qualifications**: - Post Graduate qualification in relevant discipline, preferrable but not a requirement - Fluency in te reo Maori **Pre-Employment Checks**: - Non - Core Children's Act vetting required - Drug and alcohol testing, as required, according to guidelines **Work Environment**: - Location: The Royal New Zealand Police College, Porirua - Flexibility options: this position requires willingness and flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required.
