**Te Tūranga - The Role**:
Our Spatial Planning team is working on the Eastern Bay Spatial Plan and implementation of the SmartGrowth and Rotorua long-term urban growth strategiesand we need your help

The role is varied, challenging and provides invaluable exposure to active urban planning processes. You will:

- Review and summarise engagement feedback on the Eastern Bay of Plenty Spatial Plan.
- Investigate the extent to which existing district and regional plans, policies and strategies deliver on components of the SmartGrowth and Rotorua Future Development strategies.
- Research implications of policy changes to National Policy Statements and the Resource Management Act.

You’ll be joining the high-performing Spatial Planning team and supporting related work of other teams in the Strategy and Planning section. We’re currently researching opportunities for how we integrate climate resilience and economic development into spatial planning, and engaging with communities across the Bay of Plenty.

**Ngā Pūkenga, ngā wheako - Your Skills & Experience**:
To be successful, you’ll be able to demonstrate your interest in urban planning alongside the skills and experience best suited to the role, as follows:

- Be studying towards or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in environmental or urban planning.
- Proven research experience using a wide range of media and communication.
- Technical skills and an ability to learn new programs.
- Comfortable presenting to a group.
- Hold a current driver’s license.

This position will be located in Tauranga.
