**Summer Assistant Vacancy - Biosecurity - Freshwater and Marine Advocacy (Fixed term - 12 weeks)**:

**Te Tūranga - The Role**:
Our Biosecurity team is working on increasing public awareness around invasive pest speciesand we need your help You will be supporting us with the following:

- Production of Bio-Invasive Species Guide.
- Assisting with advocacy works.
- Attending public community events.

You’ll be joining the Biosecurity team. We specialize in the management of invasive species within the Bay of Plenty in the marine and aquatic environments, including surveillance, control and advocacy.

**Ngā Pūkenga, ngā wheako - Your Skills & Experience**:
Ideal applicants for this role should have:

- Good knowledge of scientific processes both academic and field works.
- Background in Marine and/or Environmental sciences essential.
- Good communication skills as you will be communicating with members of the public and local businesses, creating awareness.
- Be studying or plan to commence studying towards Biological Sciences related qualification.
- Ability to work unsupervised when needed.
- Hold a current driver's licence.

This position will be located in Tauranga.
