Our National Planning team work on a wide range of exciting, often multi-disciplinary, projects that will shape the future of our communities including nationally significant infrastructure projects, policy development, strategic planning and place-making.

We have a new opening for a Team Leader within our National Planning team, based in Wellington.

**This exciting opportunity will see you**:

- Managing a team of planners, supporting their growth and development, coaching and motivating them to deliver quality outcomes for our clients
- Involved in operational management and contributing to decision-making for the team
- Providing technical input and project leadership to a wide range of planning and policy projects in the water, transport, energy, buildings, and land development markets
- Contributing to the growth and development of the team in line with our company vision and providing input into strategic business planning processes
- Being challenged, growing and developing professionally through opportunities such as mentoring, active involvement in professional organisations and our GHD global technical communities, and working on complex planning problems with our leading technical specialists
- Becoming part of our diverse, collaborative and supportive GHD culture.

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Ideally you will bring at least 2 years’ leadership experience, but you might be an ambitious senior ready to take the next step up in your career
- Strong people leader capability and skills for communicating with and motivating a range of personalities
- Proven technical planning record in regional council, local council or private sector planning including in consenting infrastructure projects
- A relevant Planning qualification (a New Zealand Planning Institute-recognised qualification is preferred) with 8 or more years experience in the planning/resource management field
- Full membership of the NZPI or working towards this
- Enthusiasm to work collaboratively with other technical disciplines and think laterally to deliver integrated solutions on multi-disciplinary projects
- Experience in business development and client management with established client relationships or networks
