**About the role**

The Product Owner in our Commercial & Industrial (C&I) team will be instrumental in enhancing, delivering, and driving innovation in the way Genesis creates value for our significant large business clients through various products, offerings, and services. This individual will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary squad to prioritize the product backlogs, craft user stories, and oversee the delivery of high-quality solutions. This will be an awesome opportunity to spearhead digital innovation and influence how large-scale businesses utilize energy in Aotearoa.

Some of the key responsibilities are:

- Define, understand, and translate the core deliverables for the C&I strategy into a product vision and product backlog.
- Build and manage benefit case and financials for new initiatives.
- Identify and communicate the needs and requirements of business stakeholders, users, and customers to the squad and the wider business.
- Lead the planning and execution of product discovery, build, and release and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities.
- Have final acceptance of product features before release to market and manage deployment/release strategy.

**About you**:
The perfect fit for this position is an imaginative and forward-thinking individual who possesses:

- Considerable exposure to product development within a vast, multifaceted, service-centric environment.
- Experience with digital and technology transformation, particularly with system integration and complex platforms.
- Preferably, knowledge or background in the energy sector, utilities, or related fields.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams across product development and maintenance, along with practical experience in Agile practices and the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Understands the wider business context and seeks to maximise returns in a business environment.
- Outstanding leadership qualities, communication abilities, presentation skills, and talent for fostering relationships, equipped to train, guide, advise, and make an impact on others.
