About the role
As a Nurse Practitioner at Orbit Medical Ltd, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare to patients in the Palmerston North Central Manawatu area. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated team of medical professionals, utilising your advanced nursing skills to make a positive impact on the lives of those in your care.
What you'll be doing
- Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing individualised treatment plans
- Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic health conditions, providing both curative and preventative care
- Prescribing medications and other treatments in accordance with your scope of practice
- Collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure seamless, integrated care for patients
- Maintaining detailed patient records and documentation
- Providing health education and promoting self-management strategies to empower patients
- Participating in continuous professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest nursing practices and evidence-based care
What we're looking for
A current APC as a Nurse Practitioner in New Zealand
Experience in general medical and surgical nursing
- Demonstrated expertise in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
4.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach
5.Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
6.Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice
7.Familiarity with relevant healthcare regulations and policies including Maori health perspectives
