Kōrero mō te tūranga ' About the role
This full time (40 hours per week) role is based within our acute medical services for a year to cover maternity leave. You will be working with supportive colleagues to provide an OT service to the emergency department, MAPU (short stay assessment and planning unit) and the medical ward. In this role you will see a diverse client group presenting with medical, surgical, neurological, orthopaedic, and age related conditions.

The Occupational Therapy service see clients within the hospital. Services are based in MAPU, the acute wards, the rehabilitation wards, community occupational therapy and specialist outpatient clinics
You will find professional support from your Occupational Therapy colleagues within the team and from the Professional Leader for Occupational Therapy. You will receive regular supervision and mentoring working within a team of experienced and supportive therapists.
Moū ' About you
This position is suitable for an occupational therapist with at least 3 years clinical experience who demonstrates sound clinical reasoning, communication skills and the ability to identify and manage risks.
In this role you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have the ability to prioritise. You will be working across multiple areas and so ability to work under pressure and to manage your time effectively is essential
Skills & Experience
- Registration and current APC with Occupational Therapy Board NZ
- At least 3 years clinical experience in relevant inpatient setting
- Experience in collaborative Multidisciplinary/Interprofessional practice
- Enable NZ Accreditation in Personal care and household management or equivalent
- Demonstrates ability to build rapport with patient and whānau from all backgroundsE pā ana ki a tatou ' About us
