Kōrero mō te tūranga ' About the role

We have an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our Inpatient team in a new position. This position would be covering the medical ward and Cardiac unit. The medical ward includes our acute stroke unit and so someone with neurological experience is preferred.

You will manage a diverse caseload of physical disability and age related conditions. You will work alongside other occupational therapists within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

You will also have the opportunity to extend your practice by participating in quality initiatives as well as supervising students and rotational staff.

Mō tō mātou rōpū ' About our team
The Occupational Therapy service see patients/clients within the hospital. Services are based in MAPU, the acute wards, the rehabilitation wards and specialist outpatients.

You will be part of a highly skilled and supportive team. We offer professional supervision, a comprehensive orientation programme and ongoing professional development.

Moū ' About you
This position is suitable for an occupational therapist with at least 3 years clinical experience who demonstrates sound clinical reasoning, communication skills and the ability to identify and manage risks. You will have a commitment to working collaboratively with clients, their family/whanau and the interdisciplinary team to enable safe discharge and ensure clients are able to return to valued occupations.

'Registration and current APC with Occupational Therapy Board NZ
' Experience in collaborative Multidisciplinary/Interprofessional practice
'Enable NZ Accreditation in Personal care and household management or equivalent
'Demonstrates ability to build rapport with patient and whānau from all backgrounds
Current drivers licence
