Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Senior Adviser, Practice and Quality, as a senior member of the team you will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the business. You will collaborate with the country teams assisting them to develop a strong evidence base for the development intervention required, appraisal of possible delivery and activity options and roadmaps for financial, commercial and implementation management.
You will provide portfolio, programme and/or project thought leadership and expertise ensuring that Pacific and Development Groups investment decision support and governance processes remain robust and fit for purpose, aligned with the strategic drivers of the International Development Cooperation Programme, and delivers to our legislative obligations.
**Key accountabilities include**:
- Partnering with stakeholders to support effective investment decision making;
- Providing investment decision making feedback to onshore and offshore staff
- Collating and analysing information to inform leaderships teams on portfolio, programme and project performance and risk
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
- Maintaining excellent working relationships with key stakeholders
The appointment range for this role is $117,541 to $138,283 total remuneration including employer contribution to kiwisaver - negotiable depending on experience.

We’re looking for a Senior Adviser who is personable and committed to building and maintaining strong relationships at all levels.
You’ll be able to quickly grasp, understand and translate complex data and information for business users. You’ll also have strong business, project and financial acumen and be able to adapt to changing or ambiguous environments. You will be pragmatic and able to provide valued advice and guidance to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to ensure high quality business case development and robust governance decision making across the PDG.
As an individual you will bring at least 10 years relevant experience and able to provide credible advice across the business to leadership level. You will have:
- an understanding of sound investment decision making as a key tool for governance groups
- a commitment and extensive experience in developing the capability of others through providing advice and guidance
- a proven ability to coach others how to translate ideas and concepts into well thought out investment arguments
- a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- exceptional relationship management skills
- a demonstrated history experience taking a lead role in the continuous improvement of key business processes
- An understanding/experience of project delivery in developing countries or complex and difficult delivery environments
