**About the Role**

We are right at the beginning of realising our journey of transformation to a modern, cloud-based data delivery experience that enables our users, customers and partners to gain genuine insights to drive competitive decision making.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to be part of that journey, but also has the capability and skills to ensure continuity with existing business intelligence systems in the meantime.

This role sits in the current operational team, so you will have the luxury of gaining all the IP around our current data practices and use cases, which will be invaluable as those technologies deprecate over time in favour of the momentum towards the newer digital offerings, which will ultimately become your playground too

There is a requirement for this role to cover overnight on-call support for our ETL processing on a 1-in-4 basis.

**About You**

You will be a lover of dealing with data. You enjoy the challenge of getting at data from many and varied sources, legacy, cloud-based and any anything in between. You relish manipulating and transforming data sets and curating data in order that users have information at their fingertips to make insightful decision which power our business forward.

Highly desirable skills:

- 3+ years' experience as a data engineer in a complex environment
- Hands on with Wherescape RED ETL and data management tooling
- Experience using BODS to extract SAP data
- Good understanding of technology service delivery, change management processes and the software development lifecycle
- Proficient in ETL processes, SQL Querying, and end user data use

We also highly value:

- Awareness of current technology trends in data and analytics
- Strong knowledge and/or experience with cloud-based data tooling such as Snowflake, FiveTran, Coalesce etc.
