**Data Scientist / Bi Visualisation Lead - Finance**

**The Opportunity**

This is a new role and rare opportunity for a dynamic, passionate and Data Scientist or BI Specialist to join the Gallagher Finance team.

As the Data Scientist/BI Visualisation Lead you will provide Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics services and solutions across the Gallagher Group. This will include contributing to the project implementation of technology related solutions which will enhance business performance and business insights support for the group.

You will have the ability to turn raw data into valuable insights based on business needs to enable growth and maturity towards data driven/informed decision making. You will interpret, understands, and analyse data from multiple sources to produce imaginative solutions to problems and relay these in an understandable engaging way to the wider team to enable decision making. They are also responsible (in conjunction with the wider team) for further implementing the Analytics & Insights function within the finance and Information Services team.

**To be successful in this role you need**
- A qualification in Computer Science, Engineering Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce or related quantitative field
- Practical experience with multiple coding languages (e.g. Python, R, SAS, SQL)
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information
- A flexible and adaptable attitude with an eye for details
- Enthusiastic about learning new technologies, new skills and better ways of working
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI)
- Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.
- Excellent analytical skills - the ability to identify trends, patterns and insights from data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
