Our Business Services team is here to make sure that Data and Digital department runs like a well-oiled machine. We're the ones who help set the course, gather resources, and make sure things run smoothly - think of us as the glue that holds the department together. We have advanced planning and communication skills to make sure everyone is on the same page.
From keeping everyone in the loop through clear communication to making sure the right people are in the right places we are constantly ensuring that all the moving parts are working together. We are a diverse group of experienced professionals who cover the range of activities within the department and also the wider organisation.
We seek to ensure that the department models best practices, we want to ensure that we are doing the right things in the right way and we make sure everyone's got the right skills. Plus, we're the guardians of risk management and privacy - keeping things safe and sound in the world of Data and Digital is our specialty.
**Mōu | About you**
As our D&D Policy Lead, this pivotal role will revolve around overseeing Data & Digital policies, serving as the main link for reviewing organisation-wide policies. You'll be creating and implementing Data & Digital policies and procedures and ensuring they align with legal requirements. Working closely with the entire department, you'll be the person who can identify policy needs, produce documents like white papers and briefs, and help improve policy submissions.
You will also be required to play a leading role in guiding and refining policy presentations, raising the bar for Data & Digital policies and enhancing decision-making. We will need you to join in shaping communication strategies, stay updated on policy shifts, and analyse their effects. As our recognised expert, you'll advise senior management on policy issues and foster relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders.
You will stay ahead of the curve by staying informed about policy trends and best practices. Your expertise will be crucial in audits and maintaining our commitments to equity and the Treaty of Waitangi. You will be a representative for Data & Digital in policy-related meetings, both within Te Whatu Ora and across the broader health sector, and your insights will guide senior management on policy impacts, ensuring a positive influence on Data & Digital.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Minimum five years' experience in policy development role(s)
- Proven experience in policy development, preferably in a related industry or sector
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills. Proven ability to facilitate, influence and connect people together to resolve complex issues and deliver actionable outcomes. Build strong relationships with customers, gaining their trust and respect
- Identifies problems and develops workable solutions. Eliminates roadblocks and knows the best way to get things done.
- Resilience, persistence and influencing skills to navigate, negotiate and accommodate a wide range of perspectives.
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, the significance, and obligations of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to give effect to these expectations in a meaningful way, and the commitments to equity and priorities of Wai2575
