This is a unique and rare opportunity to join a team focused on creating shared value by developing solutions to meet customer and consumers sustainability needs here in New Zealand and in our global markets. In this role you will provide clear strategic direction and inspiring leadership to develop market-led solutions through Fonterra’s sustainability capabilities and ensure this is embedded and implemented across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Building on Fonterra’s existing sustainability capabilities and differentiators, and leading the development of new solutions, to effectively meet customer and consumer needs around sustainability.
- Translating insights into product / solution development that is market-led, executable, and measurable
- Partnering with business stakeholders to enable execution across the business - regional, brand, category and sales
- Keeping a pulse on global sustainability and nutrition trends and providing thought leadership to long term strategy development and execution
- Influencing sustainability capability development throughout Fonterra by demonstrating clear value generation pathways with customers and consumers
- Champion our New Zealand grass-fed, low carbon story through Fonterra brands marketing and communications activity

**About you**
You’ll be seen as an expert in your field, bringing an in depth understanding of sustainability and marketing, while focusing on the customer and our long-term impact.

You will keep your eye on our strategic ambition to be a leader in sustainability, while comfortably navigating complexity.

As a leader and influencer, your strength will be in your interpersonal skills, having the ability to communicate, collaborate and consult with internal stakeholders, including our sales and marketing teams, as well as with external agencies, service providers and customers.

Other key attributes include:

- Experience working in a customer driven business, new business development, sales and/or marketing in both B2B and B2B2C environments
- Experience in sustainability strategy and effectively embedding through influence
- Ability to prioritize, make strategic choices, and drive commercial outcomes
- Proven leadership of multi-functional teams
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (sustainability, commerce, marketing, psychology)
