We are looking for an enthusiastic person with this mix of skills to join our Democracy Services and Advice Team. You will be assisting elected members and staff through the provision of administrative support and democracy meeting duties. This will include preparing agendas, taking minutes, supporting the procedural officer, managing meeting requirements, coordinating public forum requests, and maintaining governance policies and documentation.

As a result, we need someone who has excellent written skills, the ability to liaise across governance as well as senior management, a cool head under pressure, and demonstrated ability to produce high quality meeting outcomes - while maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Ideally, you will also have experience working in the local government sector or for another governance body. This is a technical field with a high degree of accuracy required. An understanding of the distinction between governance and operations is also an advantage.

This is an exciting role with plenty going on and lots of opportunity to make your mark. In addition to your technical skill you will also be a person who is proactive, takes initiative, is able to self-manage, and can identify improvement opportunities.
