**About the Role**

An opportunity has arisen for a Booking Clerk to join the Oncology Service (80 hours per fortnight). Hours of work are 8.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

The Booking Clerk role is essential in assisting with the smooth running of the cancer outpatient services. The role includes:

- Booking outpatient Appointments
- Attending and departing patients
- Communication with staff, patients and their families
- Telephone enquiries and general reception duties
- Organisation and distribution of patient documentation
- Maintaining accurate computer records.

**About the Team**

The Waikato Regional Cancer Centre is located in the metropolis of Hamilton, New Zealand. This unit serves a population of 550,000, has a staff of approximately 120 and comprises of an Oncology Department which includes Radiation Therapy and Chemotherapy outpatient treatment areas, an Inpatient Ward, Palliative Care Service and a Haematology Outpatient Department.

**About you**

We are looking for someone who is:

- Organised, efficient and able to prioritise their workload effectively;
- Exceptional at customer service via the telephone with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented;
- Computer literate;
- Familiar with medical terminology;
- A positive team member.

Ideally you will be skilled in general office administration, have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the health sector, and have excellent computer and typing skills.
