**Mō te tūranga l About the role**
This newly established position leads the Systems and Reporting team to develop and deliver fit for purpose systems, analytics, reporting and payroll services. We are ambitious in how we use data to report on all people metrics, taking a holistic approach across all of our people areas, ie learning, engagement, talent acquisition, payroll, performance. The end game is to understand how the data inter-relates, and presenting that information in a way that aids good decision making for the organisation and informs our people strategy.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you’ll be part of a leadership team who are focussed on building a modern, innovative service. You’ll provide our people leaders with the insight and advice that strengthens our impact through evidence based data and external best practice benchmarks.
This role is a mix of hands on delivery and strategy - with a focus on delivering fit for purpose analytics reporting and insights, efficient payroll services, and ensuring our people and capability systems are leveraged to aid productivity, a customer centric experience and meet our legislative obligations. Covering all things reporting from co-ordinating responses to OIA’s and PQ’s, to regular people metrics, and our annual report data. You will have a deep expertise in reporting, and sound knowledge of payroll in particular, with exposure to other people technology systems.
A natural leader in building highly engaged and impactful teams, you will be clear on the team priorities and champion a collective view of the people strategy as a senior leader within the People and Capability team.

To be considered for this position, your knowledge and experience will include:
- Significant experience in leading payroll, system improvement and reporting functions
- A depth of expertise in providing evidence-based reporting and insights for internal and external reporting
- A good understanding of the key performance indicators and metrics that provide critical insights and early warning indicators of risk or opportunity
- A highly collaborative and engaging relationship builder
- Exceptional at managing at times competing priorities, able to understand complexity and communicate it in a way that it is easily understood by stakeholders and peers
- Can ‘helicopter up’ on strategy and ‘drill down’ into operational detail as required
- Proven experience in building highly engaged, high performing teams that are credible and valued
