My client is a well-established heavy vehicle repair and maintenance facility serving companies nationwide. They offer comprehensive services, from minor electrical repairs to major engine rebuilds and accident damage, with 24/7 on-call specialists.
Due to continued growth, they are now a highly skilled tradesmen who is capable of completing difficult and challenging repairs.
About the role:
- Diagnose faults, repairs and maintenance required, including test driving and the use of electronic diagnostic equipment
- Perform services and preventative maintenance to manufacturers specifications and service schedules
- Drive vehicles to the testing station to complete VCA and COF Tests
- Maintain accurate time keeping using both manual and electronic systems. Complete job cards accurately
- Attend safety meeting and training as required
- Assist with keeping a clean and well maintained workshop to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
- Work independently as part of an after-hours call-out roster across Auckland
About you:
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic with 15-20 years of experience, working across multiple brands
- Strong mechanical and technical skills in servicing heavy commercial vehicles
- Hold a minimum Class 4 license (willing to obtain Class 5)
- Advanced diagnostic skills
- Proficient in English (written and verbal)
- Ability to complete complex repairs to a high standard, in particular, engine, gearbox and differential repairs
- Ability to train and mentor juniors
Benefits:
This full-time role offers a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am–5:00pm, with rostered Saturday half-days (8:00am–12:00pm).
An attractive hourly rate is offered based on experience, with overtime paid at a flat rate. Participation in an after-hours call-out roster is required, with additional pay for these shifts.
All PPE, including boots and a full uniform, is provided.
