Are you passionate about leading high-performing engineering teams and driving technical excellence at scale? Were looking for a strategic and inspiring Manager Digital Engineeringin our retail technology business to elevate our technical and engineering capabilities across Digital Sales& Services platforms.
**Some of the key responsibilities of this role will be**:
- Lead and mentora team of Technical Leads, while influencing a wider community of engineers across multiple squads.
- Establish and uphold engineering standards, ensuring architectural consistency and technical quality across platforms.
- Define and execute technical strategythat supports brand autonomy and enables faster, decoupled releases and improve speed to value
- Champion engineering culturethrough Dev Guilds, capability uplift, and fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
- Influence the tech platform roadmap, aligning engineering initiatives with business goals and modern delivery practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionallyto deliver scalable, maintainable, and customer-centric digital solutions.
Our Tech Ecosystem
- Frontend: React, Tailwind, Storybook
- Backend: NestJS, AWS (Lambda, Microservices)
- Tooling: NewRelic, Playwright, GitHub Copilot, Nx, RsPack
This is a full time permanent opportunity based in major locations of Australia and New Zealand.

- Proven experience leading engineering teams in complex, multi-brand digital environments.
- Strong technical foundation in modern web technologies and cloud-native architectures.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable roadmaps.
- Passion for mentoring and uplifting engineering capability.
- Experience with platform thinking, federated delivery models, and enabling autonomy at scale.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and can deal with ambiguity
