**About the Company**:
Westland Milk Products is a well-known New Zealand end to end dairy manufacturer based in the beautiful South Island. We process over 700 million litres of milk a year and produce a wide range of consumer and foodservice products, and dairy ingredients. Exporting at a domestic and international level, we are made up of immensely proud individuals who are truly passionate about the world-class products we produce.
Owned by the Global Top 5 dairy company Yili Group, Westland Milk Products and its related companies in New Zealand, Oceania Dairy (Glenavy), Pure Nutrition Ltd (Rolleston), Canary Foods (Hamilton) and EasiYo Ltd (Auckland) form a group that we refer to as the Yili Oceania Business Division (YOBD). The combined business produces over 170,000mt of finished goods which are then exported to over 40 countries, driving annual revenue in excess of $1.3B - and growing.
**About the Role**:
When you are exporting dairy products around the world, when products are being relied on for their nutritional value and their sheer quality, 'good' simply does not cut it. Whether we're talking about the performance of our people or the products we create at Westland Milk Products, quality is everything.
We are looking for a full-time Compliance Officer to join us on a fixed-term basis (until 15 October 2026) to cover parental leave. Reporting to the Compliance Team Leader, this role can be based in either Rolleston (Christchurch) or Hokitika. With a strong focus on customer support, the role will contribute to continuous quality improvement at an operational level, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and WMP quality standards.
**Responsibilities include**:
- The development, implementation and review of quality procedures and processes and identifying continuous improvement opportunities across the quality department.
- Execute the implementation of specific customer, regulatory and Overseas Market Access Requirements.
- Maintain effective and efficient processes to record, track and manage document changes.
- Coordinate the approval process of all Quality documentation changes.
- Maintenance of TACCP and VACCP programmes.
- The effective analysis, interpretation, and improvement of quality performance trends and KPI's.
- The effective implementation of new product introduction and change management processes.
- Quality assurance, auditing, report writing and documentation management.
- Supporting the business to continually enhance a customer focused quality system.
**The attributes we seek**:
The ability to manage priorities across many competing demands and range of activities will be as important as the ability to develop your knowledge of quality systems and your understanding of RCA, NCR and complaint management processes. Being able to understand and interpret technical and official documents is also required, but most important to us, is the person behind the qualifications.
You will be a dedicated team-player and have well developed interpersonal skills and a customer focused approach along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. A desire to resolve issues and help drive continuous improvement is also essential, together with a passion to contribute to the success of the wider Quality Team.
