Dunsandel, New Zealand Synlait Full time

**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning & Development Partner to join our team. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference for the frontline. We have big goals at Synlait and to achieve them, we need our people to be confident, capable, and well-trained so they’re equipped to perform.

Reporting to the Head of People & Capability, you will play an instrumental part in working across our operational, quality, safety, and technical teams to design and deliver training that makes a difference. Focusing first on “getting the basics right”, the first twelve months of this role will look like getting in amongst our operations to create training plans, competency frameworks, and assessment criteria to improve SOP adherence, minimise errors, meet audit requirements, and lift overall competency and performance of our people. Operational stability is our goal and so you need to be willing to get your high-vis and steel caps on, roll your sleeves up (literally, you’ll wash your hands 7000 times a day), and learn the ins and outs of what our people do every day. We’re reshaping learning across all facets of our business from quality, to health & safety, to people, to operations so it’s an exciting opportunity for someone interested in working across an entire business.

Sick of the annoying daily commute to the centre city? Based at our state-of-the art facilitates in Dunsandel you’ll skip the daily traffic-light grind, jump on the motorway, and have a luxurious commute out to the country listening to your podcast, drinking your Macca’s coffee, and pulling into a large carpark with ample _free _parking. If that sounds like your kind of morning, we’d love to hear from you

**Key responsibilities of this role include..**
- Partnering with business leaders and the Safety, People & Culture team to assess learning needs across Synlait and create prioritised plans to address them.
- Developing tactical learning plans and delivery mechanisms that will address core competency gaps and compliance risks, and will lift capability, operational effectiveness, and people performance.
- Designing, delivering, and managing learning programs, workshops, and e-learning modules that cater to various learning styles and needs
- Evaluating the effectiveness of learning programs through feedback, assessment, and performance metrics. Recommend and implement continuous improvements.
- Managing external vendors and training providers where necessary, ensuring effectiveness of delivery and value for investment.
- Supporting long-term improvements in SOP adherence, and reductions in recurring quality issues, safety risks, and non-conformance trends.
- Building strong relationships with frontline leaders, SME’s and technical experts.
- Providing people leadership to the Learning Specialist - a great first leadership opportunity for someone looking to step up in their career

If you are a skilled, passionate and experienced learning specialist then we want to hear from you

**Skills and Experience**
- Demonstrated experience in a Learning & Development Advisory, Specialist, or Partner role in a manufacturing or operational environment.
- Proven experience designing and delivering technical training across operations, quality, safety/wellbeing and support services that meets compliance and operational requirements.
- Experience with building competency frameworks, training plans, learner guides, and assessments for frontline employee upskill and capability improvements.
- Experience facilitating learning to groups of people both face-to-face and online with an engaging and impactful delivery style.
- Experience in designing e-learning modules in Rise and/or StoryLine/Articulate (desirable).
- Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build strong, respected relationships with stakeholders.
- Practical, delivery-focused, and able to simplify complex content into learning that delivers results
- Passionate about designing and delivering learning in operational environments
- Takes ownership of outcomes and is driven by impact, not just completion
- NZ Certificate in Adult Education (Level 5) or equivalent (advantageous)
- Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources, Education, or related field (desirable)

Applicants outside of New Zealand will only be considered if you have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
