Senior Procurement Advisor

You may have heard of Te Waihanga. We're small (but mighty) and haven't been around long by government standards. But our job is as big as it gets, helping New Zealand get the right infrastructure, whether it's transport connections that get us from a to b, water and power connections needed to support affordable homes, or schools and hospitals that support our communities.
All this is why we need you.
We're after someone to take the lead on day-to-day procurement activities and our long-term strategic procurement objectives for Te Waihanga.
The role reports to the Finance Manager and will be expected to collaborate with the wider Operations team and others throughout the organisation.
**Key responsibilities in the role include**:
- Delivering fit-for-purpose, quality solutions and great value for money
- Utilising Te Waihanga's new procurement frameworks and systems to support and enable good practice procurement activity
- Drafting and coordinating strategic documents as well as managing procurement reporting processes and contracting practices
- Procurement of required service solutions by engaging with the All of Government (AoG) panels or a public listing on Government Electronic Tendering Service (GETS)
- Managing the evaluation process from tender registration through to the recommendation memo
- Maintaining and updating Te Waihanga's contract register
- Building relationships with different areas of the organisation to provide procurement and contractual advice
To do this, it would be beneficial if you have experience working within the public sector and are aware of current Government guidelines.
It's desirable that you have (or are working towards) MCIPS qualification or related discipline.
**You will also need to be a whizz at things like**:
- Microsoft Office products
- MS Teams
- SharePoint
In this role you will also need to demonstrate a willingness to engage with Te Ao Māori perspectives and frameworks.
Mō te tīma / About our team
Te Waihanga is what's called an Autonomous Crown Entity or, even better, an ACE. We think about the whole infrastructure system - roads, waterpipes, powerlines, you name it - and our job is to give advice and uncover the insights that can make it all work as well as it can, supporting an Aotearoa that's great for the generations to come.
Our people are smart and passionate about this stuff. Sometimes too passionate - hence the need for an expert in making it accessible to others They're friendly and, this being a relatively small organisation, it's easy to work with anyone here and to have an impact. We don't do hierarchy or stand on ceremony.
We also value our people, and it's important to us that you feel welcome, supported, and respected.
**Benefits**:
Here at Te Waihanga, we offer a great range of benefits to eligible permanent employees including:
- Flexible working that supports the individual, the team and the organisation
- Subsidised medical insurance for employees
- Wellbeing allowance to support healthy living
- Five weeks of annual leave per year
- Support with learning and continued professional development
