Remote, New Zealand Dovetail Full time

**The Opportunity ✨**
Dovetail is made up of three areas of focus: Digital Product Agency, Venture Studio & VC Fund. Our Product team flexes across all three entities, to create products that span a variety of verticals pushing continued disruption and innovation.
As a full-service product development agency, we specialise in building digital products that scale. We lead teams through the product lifecycle journey to ship impressive products to market that are used by millions daily. We work with clients to evangelise our product mindset, and Venture Partners that we identify, fund, and scale from the ground up.
Our product approach, combined with our experience, drives customer-centricity into the problems we identify and the solutions we build. Releasing tangible solutions with goal-orientated decision-making.

The Role
*

As a Group Product Manager at Dovetail, your work will play an integral role in the future of our business. Contributing towards the foundations for successful growth and scale, you will guide passionate and experienced Product Managers in their professional development and strategic work, partner deeply with leaders in engineering and design, and help build, influence and grow our product management capability at Dovetail.
A Group Product Manager role could be right for you if you have the experience and ability to:

- Promote and influence progressive, outcome-based product practices with our clients and peers within Dovetail.
- Champion innovation, collaboration, and iterative approaches to new product opportunities, across Dovetail's Product Agency and Venture Studio arms.
- Be a servant leader, coaching and guiding other product managers on their professional development, to contribute towards a healthy and high performing product team.
- Support the wider team as a product expert and evangelist, bringing high levels of empathy and a deep understanding of customers.
- Provide strategic oversight of product work, in a coaching capacity - knowing when to act as a sounding board or when to be a problem solver.
- Represent and share cohesive product visions, strategies, and goal orientated-outcomes with teams, and coach others to do the same.
**Requirements**:
**About you**
You love working towards delivering outstanding products and are passionate about achieving great outcomes for customers. You have experienced success with setting product vision and strategy and bringing amazing products to market. You are passionate about setting clear goals and outcomes, and communicating clearly with conviction to your team, your customers, and peers across Dovetail. You take pride in mapping a companies strategy directly to what your product teams are working on, and can clearly connect their results back to that strategy. You’re motivated to understand the problems end-users face and the importance of strategic goals, while not being afraid of getting involved in technical discussions when need.
- Ability to paint a compelling product vision to inspire your teams and the business.
- Adopt a growth mindset that seeks to improve our product management practices and hygiene amongst the teams and the engagements you are responsible for.
- Experience with defining problem statements, product goals, measures of success, tracking key results and sharing meaningful insights.
- Ability to prioritise opportunities, balance the needs of your customers with those of the business, and clearly communicate the rationale.
- Good instincts combined with deep product thinking that helps inform your desired outcomes.
- A track record of building trusted relationships, passionate storytelling, and an ability to influence without authority at all levels of an organisation.
- A love of coaching and guiding other Product Managers, both one to one and as a part of a cohesive outcome-orientated team.
- Contribute to and collaborate on a wide spectrum of product initiatives at Dovetail, including (but not exclusively) discovery, experience design, growth strategy, customer research, and product marketing.
- Thrive in fast-paced, often ambiguous environments
**We value your experience**
We look beyond how many years you've spent in a role and your educational background. Of course, the number of qualifications and certifications you've obtained is a testament to your hunger to learn. But, we like to think there's a lot more to your experience than this.
When it comes to a Product Manager, we like to know:

- What product outcomes you have led, and why and for whom they were valuable.
- What initiatives you have owned and the results (whether good or bad).
- How you think and how you best learn.
- How you tell your story and how you motivate/inspire others.
**Benefits**

We enjoy working with*
People from all walks of life who;
- Are highly curious. They believe in continuous improvement and lifelong learning
- Are one part pedant, one part pragmatist
- Are crafty like a sculptor, not a fox
- Have a favourite emo
