**About the role**
We have an opportunity available for a Key Account Manager to manage one of our key customer accounts for our New Zealand business. Reporting to the National Business Manager, this position is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract and will be based in our Auckland head office.
As the Key Account Manager you will provide direction and structure and implement key strategies for Kimberly-Clark New Zealand business. You will plan, analyse, negotiate, control and manage the account across Kimberly-Clark (KC) NZ’s brands to ensure optimum profitability & budgeted NSV is achieved within specified volume, trade spend and category/brand strategy guidelines.
**Responsibilities**
This role is fast paced, challenging and dynamic through its variety of responsibilities. As the Account Executive you will take accountability for KC NZ’s brands in the categories that we play in. You will have the ability to achieve superior competitive advantage for KC NZ by developing and maintaining strong trading relationships with key customers and stakeholders. Ultimately, you will champion our One KC Behaviours and to live the KC Values of Caring, Authentic, Accountable and Innovative that are critical to the way that we operate.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Develop, analyse, implement and manage the customer promotional plans that best achieve budgeted sales and share targets by product and customer
- Provide recommendations to the National Business Manager, Customer Managers, Category Development Managers and Field Operations regarding local market and account dynamics, sales opportunities, promotional programs and key category initiatives
- Achieve superior competitive advantage for KC NZ by developing and maintaining strong trading relationships with key Customers and all stakeholders
- Contribute to the review and negotiation of client business plans by providing thorough analysis of Trade Spend, Profitability, Return on Investment, Sales performance, Supply Chain & Receivables
- Ensure optimum profitability & budgeted NSV is achieved within specified trade investment and category/brand strategy guidelines
**Skills & Experience**:
As the successful applicant you will have the following:
- Previous Account / Customer Management or Customer Category Management Experience essential
- Advanced sales, negotiation, relationship building and influencing skills
- Excellent financial acumen, budgeting and forecasting skills
- Knowledge and implementation of trading terms and their relationship to a successful business proposal
- Detailed knowledge of the NZ Grocery Channel essential
- Demonstrated understanding of category management principles
- High level of experience and competence with MS Outlook and MS Office suite of products
- Knowledge of systems such as Aztec, SAP, Promotional Planning tools
- Experience within FMCG highly desirable
