**A unique opportunity to join SGS as Technical Manager of our Inspection Body within our Regulatory business unit.**

**Job Description**:
This is a key role ideally based in New Plymouth but will require frequent travel across New Zealand.

**In the role of Technical Manager, you will be responsible for**:

- Maintaining global best practice within the Regulatory business unit in accordance with the quality management system and the corresponding PECPR Regulations.
- Oversee, manage, execute, and improve the ISO 17020 quality management system in conjunction with the Quality Manger.
- Provide expert technical advice and leadership to the business to ensure that all surveys across the business and decisions are congruent with best practice survey and inspection protocols.
- In conjunction with the Quality Manager, maintain a close and effective working relationship with IANZ, WorkSafe NZ, MBIE, and CBIP as required to deliver quality and consistent inspections services to the advantage of SGS.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant technical qualification, First Class Marine Engineers Certification or tertiary professional qualification including Engineering Degree.
- Extensive background in fabrication, maintenance, operations, or technical management of boilers, pressure equipment, pipelines, and related industries.
- Demonstrated technical leadership skills.
- Ability to obtain relevant CBIP signatory qualifications as deemed necessary to fulfil the accountabilities of the position.

**About you**

As an experienced technical professional, you will have the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment and provide an outstanding service to our internal and external customers.

You will have strong interpersonal skills and proven experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationship with customers and gains their trust and respect. A full and current New Zealand driver license is required along with a willingness to travel.
