**Description**:
A bit about the role
As our Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for supporting and managing the infrastructure & cloud platforms used by DDS IT’s customers. This includes a combination of both BAU support as well as project-based work. The role will have a strong working relationship with technical resources and teams across DDS IT, as well as playing a key role within the DDS IT Cloud & Infrastructure team. The role will also have a strong working relationship with key stakeholders within DDS IT’s client base, including technical and management functions within various Service and Technology delivery towers.
**Your core responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
Providing technical assistance for team members
Identifying and contributing improvements to processes
Identify areas where automation or efficiencies can be made
Ensure client SLAs are met
Assist with maintaining and executing required security standards for supported infrastructure
Assist and advise in updating and/or transition of services into operations
Ensure that all customer data and information is collected, stored and communicated securely and in accordance to the Privacy Act (1993)
Contribute in defining future state of DDS and client infrastructure
Contribute to defining future state of product and service offerings
Undertake tutoring and mentoring sessions to facilitate technical development of team members
Delivers exceptional customer service and provides first touch resolution for our customers
In this role, you will work closely with customers as a trusted partner, delivering exceptional customer service. You will establish credibility and a strong reputation by offering valuable advice and guidance. Collaboration plays a vital role as you work with a diverse team to plan and execute improvements and projects. Additionally, you will assist internal IT teams in enhancing systems and processes and you will support Technical Account Managers in local IT planning and ensure preparedness for disaster recovery.

**Some of the key technical skills needed would be**:
Experience with Azure/AWS and associated services
Operating systems (Windows Server 2012/2019, RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu)
Networking fundamentals & security standards
Experience with Infrastructure-As-Code, Config Management & CI/CD tools (Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps, Git)
Usage & configuration of monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, LogicMonitor, Dynatrace)
Scripting/Programming (Bash, PowerShell, Python)
Databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
