Mō te tūnga - About the role
It's an exciting time to work at EECA, as we continue to develop our work programmes and reduce NZ's energy-related carbon emissions. Our two new programmes: GIDI Clean Tech and GIDI Commercial Buildings areaimed at encouraging businesses (particularly SMEs) to take up energy efficient and low emissions equipment, including retrofits for commercial buildings. We're in the process of establishing the GIDI Clean Tech team and we are now looking for a Senior Technical Advisor, to be responsible for the following:

- Providing specialist advice and assessing proposals for potential funding
- Completing technical evaluations, including energy and water usage calculations, and energy efficiency and carbon abatement estimations
- Engaging with our stakeholders, assisting them to overcome any technical issues that arise, and supporting their post-installation evaluation and audits

The topics of technical advice will include hot water heat pumps, commercial lighting, space heating, electric motor systems and more.
He kōrero mōu - About you
We're looking for someone who would describe themselves as having:

- a relevant tertiary qualification, in an area such as engineering or science (or adjacent)
- a strong technical understanding of equipment and systems which use and transform energy
- knowledge of product and engineering standards and regulations, and practical knowledge of building services
- the ability to explain technical material to a variety of audiences
- five plus years of experience in the energy and/or building sector.
