Are you passionate about tamariki with developmental disabilities and looking to make a positive difference in the lives of tamariki and their whanau? You will be working in a multidisciplinary team within the Child Development Centre (CDC). The CDC provides multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention for tamariki aged 0 - 19 years with developmental disabilities. The psychologists within CDC carry out diagnostic assessments with children and young adolescents with developmental disabilities.
Part of this role may be to work in a team with paediatricians to provide assessment of children's health, developmental needs, mental health, trauma, emotional and education needs in our Gateway Service. From the assessment, a multi-agency agreement is decided on with health and Oranga Tamariki services. The position would ideally suit a psychologist with experience in the assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability and other common neurodevelopmental conditions. Proficiency in the administration and interpretation of psychometric instruments, in particular the WISC-V and the ADOS-2 would be an advantage. Excellent written communication skills are required as assessment report writing is a key part of the role.
