**Mō te tūranga | About the role**

The Head of Cyber Governance and Strategy is responsible for managing and driving the cybersecurity strategy, its governance and associated operating activities to ensure the business operates efficiently and effectively across the enterprise. Ensuring that value is delivered from cybersecurity processes, that risk is managed, resources are optimised and that related C-suite reporting is clear, accurate, timely and appropriate to the audience.

Aspects of this role are business facing, aimed at increasing cybersecurity literacy, align business needs and goals with the cybersecurity strategy, supporting shape business decisions and processes to securely deliver long term benefits to customers and the business.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Lead, develop and grow a team, drive and promote a high-performance culture that embodies achievement, accountability, teamwork and integrity, that enables a diverse workforce to reach its full potential
- Develop a cybersecurity strategy and shape business strategies and alignment by providing guidance and counsel on complex technical issues to ensure the long-term benefit of customers, employees and community stakeholders
- Consult with business units, Technology leadership and Commercial teams to ensure cybersecurity security plans are integrated with Westpac’s strategies.
- Lead a team focused on realising our business objectives by understanding organisational needs and the interplay of the Banks’ and Cybersecurity strategies
- Champion and adhere to enterprise methodologies, processes and standards, and where appropriate alignment to Group on these
- Influence policy, standards and procedures covering the management of cybersecurity and interfacing with Group peers on this
- Build long-term, strategic relationships with senior stakeholders, and maintain feedback loops and visibility of cyber issues and resolution options
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Design, and Business teams to ensure objectives and outcomes align with the cybersecurity strategy

**What we're looking for**:

- Demonstrable experience in formulating and implementing strategies, a critical thinker that is efficient in influencing and maintain effective working relationships across senior stakeholders
- Highly attuned analytical skills and demonstrable ability to visualise data in the context of strategy and key performance outcomes
- Experience in information security, information technology, strategy, delivery, risk management, or equivalent role (5+ years) a combination of these roles is desirable
- Experience in cybersecurity or IT governance (4+ years)
- Experience managing a team (3+ years)
- Excellent communication skills with experience developing and delivering clear, concise reporting and metrics to executives and directors (2+ years)
- Understanding of international security and risk-related standards or frameworks, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO-27000, CPS234 and SABSA
- Knowledge of agile and program execution frameworks (e.g., AEF, PEF) and related tool proficiency is desirable
- Tertiary education or longstanding industry certification in information security, information technology, risk management, strategy, or equivalent discipline
