Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

AE Smith delivers technical and engineering services covering mechanical services, building construction, onsite power, energy efficiency and building services solutions throughout New Zealand. As an HVAC Draftsperson you will use your drafting experience on HVAC projects in a manner that complies with contract specifications and company standards and provides cost effective solutions for our business and our clients. Other responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Produce fully detailed and accurate shop drawings for the fabrication of ducting and piping systems from 3D models using Revit.
Ensure that all shop drawings are fully coordinated with other trades to minimise clash of services, wastage and reworks.
Generate schedules of equipment and material BOQs.

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

You will have a strong working knowledge of HVAC systems with a good understanding of construction methodologies. You will have had experience in a similar role with solid experience with AutoCAD, Revit & Navisworks software and be proficient in both 2D drawings and 3D modelling. You will also bring with you:
A great communicator with the ability to engage people across various areas of the project
Have a commitment to transparency, professionalism, innovation and continuous improvement
Mechanical / Drafting Certificate is preferred. Experience will also be taken into account
A current full driver’s licence
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple demands
