Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The new national Procurement & Supply Chain (P & SC) Senior Leadership Team is being established within Te Whatu Ora. This leadership group will support the development and implementation of Te Whatu Ora's P & SC operating model which is Nationally-led, and Delivered Nationally, Regionally and Locally.
We have an opportunity for you to join the P & SC function as National Manager - Strategy, Policy and Assurance. In this role you will be able to contribute to transforming the future of health by being a part of the development of the overall P & SC strategy, and more specifically, providing guidance and leadership throughout the establishment and implementation of the policy strategy, assurance, risk, and capability work programmes.
This mahi will see you leading a highly functional team of Advisors that will work to establish and implement policy across several areas in the P & SC space. Under your guidance, your team will strive to ensure that P & SC is performing to the best of its ability by:

- Identifying, managing, and mitigating risk;
- Developing and implementing policy; and
- Auditing and assuring policies, procedures, processes, and systems

As a senior leader on a national level, you will be responsible for liaising with teams in the districts and providing expert level advice where needed to ensure that the P & SC operating model and strategies are understood and upheld across the business.
This is a 5-month fixed-term opportunity.
Mōu | About you
You will be an experienced people leader, with your experience preferably coming from your time working within a large organisation. You will be leading your team through a time of change, so you will be confident leading your team within an ambiguous and shifting environment. Your career has led you to have a sound understanding of business processes, and the P & SC sector as a whole.
You are a confident and strong communicator, with an ability to engage with and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

**You will have**:

- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a willingness to learn and grow
- A relevant graduate qualification, or equivalent professional experience
- An understanding of relevant P & SC environment
- At least 5 years leading functions relevant to the role such as strategy, policy, audit and/or risk management
- At least 3 years leading a team
