**The Organisation**

The Timaru District Council aims to enable democratic local decision-making and action by, and on behalf of communities, to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of its communities in the present and for the future. With around 400 staff, there are a diverse range of roles from front facing community to support and technical specialists.

**The Role / Person**

We are looking for an Executive Assistant extraordinaire to support our Recreation and Cultural Services Group This Group plays a key role in the delivery of recreation, cultural and heritage services to our awesome community.

Here’s a snapshot of what you can expect

Working alongside our new Group Manager (GM), you will be able to pick up and run with a multitude of activities to support the delivery of community wellbeing outcomes.

No two days will be the same supporting this busy group. You will find yourself providing meeting support, managing the GM’s calendar, screening and creating correspondence, assisting with community engagement activities and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

We’re looking for a problem solver who can fill in the gaps when pieces of the puzzle are missing. You will act as an ‘enabler’ for operational staff and provide high quality administration and coordination support.

You will be pragmatic with a collaborative approach, great sense of humour and strong interpersonal skills. Your attention to detail will be second to none, and when it comes to juggling multiple priorities - you will have it covered.
