**The Role**

As the Senior Engagement & Culture Business Partner, you will work alongside the designated groups within the Council to effectively manage all human resource functions. Working closely with Group Managers and employees, you will provide senior-level technical advice and support for all HR activities. This role also involves mentoring and supporting members of the Engagement and Culture Team, while actively contributing to the development of a high engagement and performance culture within the organization.

Reporting to the Engagement and Culture Manager, this role will have a main focus within the groups. You will work closely with the key stakeholders to provide effective, efficient, and professional delivery of HR advice to ensure the reputation of the Council as a ‘good employer’ is upheld across the organisation, the local government sector, and into our wider communities.

We expect you to have an approachable and confident personality with a background in HR, People and Culture, or a related industry. Your excellent communication skills covering a variety of stakeholders is crucial to your success within this role. You will be a people person, who is easygoing yet can hit the ground running with your critical thinking and drive. Risk management and strong strategy acumen is important, as well as being able to think outside the box. Your emotional intelligence and HR experience will be transferrable into a council environment, paired with a strong aptitude to learn.
